Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Greensboro, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across North Carolina run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Greensboro is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Greensboro is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This is my favorite Japanese Steakhouse in Greensboro. They give the most generous portions along with reasonable prices. The food is always delicious. The atmosphere is not as appealing as some places but it is still my go-to spot.

Oh, where to begin with this review. The entire experience from the moment we walked in was the truest form of a disappointment; frankly, the experience was insulting, and my family will NEVER return to this restaurant despite it being a former favorite. On the door when you walked in, there was a sloppy, hand-written sign that all parties (no matter the size) would be charged a mandatory 18% "service fee," simply because it was Motherβs Day. One thing to understand about my family is that my wife used to work in the food service industry, and I have worked in both the grocery retail and hospitality spaces for several years. So, we truly understand and appreciate the difficulties that workers who rely on gratuities face and if the service is even remotely decent, we will generally tip at least 20% for average service; however, to be forced into a gratuity for barely even sub-par service in an environment where my children were literally begging for ice cubes because it was so hot (yes, I realize itβs a hibachi restaurant so itβs going to be a bit warmer than most other restaurants, but there was no air circulation, or A/C running whatsoever β it was so bad that the smoke from o

Although I was not impressed during a previous visit over a year ago, today's experience was amazing. The chef was fun and friendly, and the food was both delicious and impressive. I also particularly appreciated the very generous portion sizes.

Great food. Chef was fair. Not to talkative like I've seen at other Japanese restaurants. The other thing is they made us wait until our whole party were there before we were seated and the whole room was reserved for our party yet half way through they brought in another party of 8 and sat at the extra grill table without consulting with our host.
